Identifying Unknowns Using Solubility Curves & Rules

Identify a set of unknown solutions using solubility curves and solubility rules.

You will be given four unknown compounds in powdered form, labeled "A", "B", "C", and "D". Each of the compounds is either NaCl, Na2CO3, CaCl2, or KNO3. (Known samples of each of these compounds will also be available.)
  1. Test 0.5 g in 5.0 mL H2O solutions of unknown vs. known compounds to identify some of the unknowns.
  2. Identify the remaining unknowns by measuring/checking the solubility in 5.0 mL of H2O at a different temperature.
