An experiment involving motion in two dimensions. Students attempt to drop an egg from the roof of the school at the right time to hit their physics teacher as he walks below at a constant velocity.
To drop an egg from the roof of the school so that it lands on a physics teacher walking underneath.
- Use a tape measure to find the distance from the ground to the point at which the egg will be released.
- Using a tape measure and stopwatch, determine the velocity of a physics teacher walking on the ground. (The teacher will attempt to walk at a constant velocity.)
- Make the calculations necessary to determine when to release an egg so that it lands on the teacher as he walks underneath at a constant velocity.
